Scottish hemp photographed in Aberdeenshire October 2021. Hemp as a crop brings incredible environmental advantages due to its capacity for carbon sequestration, contributing to a greater biodiversity, land recovery and remediation.
The project on Scottish Hemp investigates and documents how hemp can bring incredible environmental advantages to farming in Scotland
and hopefully in the future will play a role in the development and expansion of a low carbon, environmentally responsible industry as we strive to reach net zero.
The cyanotype prints were hand printed on hemp wallpaper which was manufactured in Scotland in the early 2000's and were on display at COP26 in collaboration with the Rowett Institute in Aberdeen to promote hemp as a sustainable crop.
